Sign up in the courtyard today. Beginning Sunday, October 5, children will rehearse on Sunday mornings from 10:00 - 10:25am in Room 2 (Green Door) adults and children will meet to rehearse from 11:45am - 12:30pm in the Sanctuary. Roger Thompson will be staging the performance with Linda Thompson and Ellen Collord directing the music. If you have questions, please contact either Linda Thompson or Ellen Collord.

•  Noël Notes, Our Mission Committee Project: We hope you will participate in our advent project of bringing blank holiday cards to church, cards that share the message of Christmas but with no writing on them. The cards are for inmates at the Soledad Prisons to write on and to send to their loved ones. Please put your cards in the large,  holiday-wrapped boxes at church during October and November. Thank you!

•  Mission Coffee Table: Our Fair Trade products are available for your purchase in the courtyard. The proceeds help vulnerable, small farmers sustain themselves by earning a fair price for their products.

•   Have you read The Shack? This short little book is a must read for Christians old and new. Our church Faith & Fiction book group will be discussing The Shack at its Monday, November 24th meeting. You have plenty of time to read it and join us for discussion. Costco has the book and Jay has a few copies to loan. We hope you can join us on Monday, November 24th at 7:00 pm in Fellowship Hall.

•    Prayers for Pakistan Schools: Please pray for safety for the children and teachers in our Presbyterian schools in Pakistan. Pray especially for Veeda Javaid, the director of the schools, and for all the teachers who focus on peacemaking as girls and boys and Christians and Moslems study together.

•    Last week’s Church-to-Church food collection was extremely successful. First Presbyterian Church of Monterey’s congregation donated over 80 items to St. Mary’s food bank. St. Mary’s called to express thanks and gratitude for the donations. The Church-to-Church food collection is an ongoing project that is extremely necessary. There are so many people and families without basic food products needed for everyday health and survival. Please continue your care and generosity in helping meet their food needs.

•    Is it Christmas already?! Are you someone who likes quiet candlelight communion? If so, please consider helping at our 11:00pm Christmas Eve Service we need musicians, singers, readers and more.... contact Ellen Collord.

Needed are vocals, guitars, drums, bass, keyboard, etc. “We have a wonderful time making music and praising God together.” If you are interested in participating, please contact Linda Thompson.
